Infoware Sponsorship

Sponsorship

The main purpose for Infoware to sponsor something is to strength our brand and improve our external communication. We like to encourage Entrepreneurship, enthusiasm and strong commitments and sponsor sports and events that are in line with this.

Lacrosse

We are proud to be one of the principal sponsors for Sweden Lacrosse and the Swedish National Lacrosse Teams during the season 2008/09. Lacrosse is an international full contact team sport, considered one of the oldest sports in North America.  Today it is one of the fastest growing team sports and it is the national game of Canada. In Sweden Lacrosse has not existed until the latter part of the 1980s, today there are 450 players with license.

The game is played by ten players: a goalie, three defensemen, three midfielders and three attackmen. The object of the game is to shoot the ball into the opponent's goal. The team scoring the most goals wins. It is played on a large grass field comparable to a football field. The players try to throw the ball with their lacrosse sticks into the opponent's goal. The goals which resemble an ice hockey goal are located within the field as in ice hockey.

Being one of Sweden’s smaller team sports, but probably the fastest growing, Lacrosse is an exhilarating sport, fast-paced and full of action. The game requires and rewards coordination and communication of the team and agility and great technique of the players, not brawn. Just in line with Infoware’s own experience within the IT area!

The European championships in Lacrosse 2008 will be held in Lahti in Finland in the beginning of August. Lacrosse is rapidly becoming bigger and the organizers expect 17 national men teams and 9 national women teams. With 26 competing teams, this is one of the largest Europeans championships regardless of sport. We wish our teams VERY GOOD LUCK!
